Team
We bring different backgrounds, experiences, and approaches to our work. What we share is The Way We Can's core philosophy and practice: helping leaders and teams strengthen how they think, decide, and act together.
Each of us brings our own strengths to that work while helping clients build the relationships, practices, and ways of working that make better leadership and better results possible.
Meet Our Team
JODY GOLD
Founder, MSOD
“This is gonna be fun!” Jody told a new friend after both were tapped to sing in Yale's oldest a cappella group. “I have this habit of being part of teams when they're at their best.”
He wouldn't know it for years, but Jody was already beginning a lifelong exploration of what makes teams work, what gets in their way, and what they can accomplish together.
As a middle school math and science teacher, Jody built “we're in this together” classroom cultures where students loved school even as they consistently outperformed district peers on statewide tests. After earning a Master's Degree in Organizational Development from Pepperdine, he became an expert in Matrix Leadership, a methodology for developing resilient, interdependent, high-performing teams.
Since then, Jody has coached leaders and worked with leadership teams in organizations ranging from growing companies and nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies across technology, energy, healthcare, and education. He helps them navigate consequential decisions, strengthen how they work together, and achieve important results.
Jody believes teams can develop capacities that no individual leader possesses alone. How they make sense of complexity, bring different perspectives together, coordinate action, and learn and adapt as a system can enable them to achieve results that would otherwise remain out of reach. His work helps teams develop those capacities deliberately.
And he's learned something he sensed back at Yale and saw again in his classrooms: doing exceptional work together can also be deeply engaging, energizing, and fun.
BETH RONSICK
Consultant, BJ, PCC
“You are likely to learn more than you'll ever impart.”
A mentor offered Beth that advice before she left for Hong Kong in 2000 to lead regional talent development for Ogilvy & Mather, supporting 5,000 employees across 20 Asia-Pacific offices. The experience sparked a lifelong interest in understanding and improving complex cross-cultural dynamics.
Now based in Colorado, Beth works as an executive coach and facilitator, helping leaders and teams turn difference into strength. She creates conditions for candor, trust, and alignment while helping people find paths forward they can genuinely own.
SAM ELMORE
Consultant, MA
Sam believes experiences are what shape us. His lifelong exploration of the body's innate intelligence has taken him through competitive athletics, improvisational theater, backcountry adventure, and experiential coaching and facilitation.
His work draws on agile methodologies, design thinking, somatic psychology, team process, social justice theory, neuroscience, and improvisation to help leaders and teams become more adaptive, connected, and effective.
Sam has coached founders from Uplight, Halp, and Term Scout and worked with teams at Twitter, HomeAdvisor, and the University of Colorado. He has supported leaders and teams through mergers, acquisitions, funding rounds, and public offerings while helping them stay connected to themselves and one another.
LAUREN GOLTEN
Consultant, MA, MS
Lauren is a nature-based therapist and team facilitator whose work draws on Matrix Leadership, the Work That Reconnects, and the Wild Mind model of Animas Valley Institute. With master's degrees in Wilderness Therapy and Field Biology, she brings an ecological perspective to how people and teams develop.
Lauren sees teams as living systems. At The Way We Can, she draws on that perspective to help people build connection and belonging, work productively with differences, and become more adaptive and effective together.
Our Core Values
-

Dream Big
Work can be a place of achievement, progress, growth, and joy. We help clients pursue ambitious goals while creating ways of working that make people want to bring their best to the work and to one another. We believe people can achieve extraordinary outcomes together and find real satisfaction in doing so.
-

Thrive Together
We support one another as we grow. We welcome differences in identity, ideas, and style because they make the whole greater than the sum of its parts. When people care about one another, care about the work, and believe in what they're creating together, they bring more energy, commitment, and effort to producing exceptional results.
-

Make Something Better, Today
We're in it for the long haul, but we measure progress one day at a time. Did our clients strengthen an important relationship, achieve a meaningful result, or move something important forward today?
